MEASURED Webinar: Membrane Gas Separation with the aid of CFD ( OpenFOAM )

Date: 14 November 2025
Time: 11:00 – 12:00 CET
Format: Online

About the Webinar

This webinar introduces the fundamentals of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and its application to membrane gas separation processes. Participants will first learn the theoretical background of CFD, including governing equations, boundary conditions, and numerical methods used to simulate fluid flow and mass transfer through membranes. In the practical section, the course focuses on using OpenFOAM, an open-source CFD software, to model and analyze gas separation performance. Participants will gain hands-on experience in setting up cases, defining transport and membrane properties, running simulations, and interpreting results such as concentration profiles, pressure distributions, and separation efficiencies. By the end of the course, participants will understand how CFD tools like OpenFOAM can be effectively applied to optimize membrane design and operation for gas separation applications.
